[ 28th May 2024, London, UK ] Dodona Analytics Ltd. today announced a partnership with US-based Recharge Monkey to support the rapid deployment of a network of EV charging stations as US infrastructure tries to keep pace with EV demand.
The US Department of Energy, quoting a report from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the US, recently stated that by 2030, there will be 33 million EVs on the road, needing 28 million EV charging ports to support them and close to 10% of these would be needed at public charging stations, for vehicle owners with no access to consistent off-street parking and for long-distance travel. And many in the industry feel that meeting this demand will be extremely challenging.
Led by a group of seasoned entrepreneurs, Recharge Monkey is answering the call of this challenge, making significant strides in establishing a reliable EV charging infrastructure across selected US states. It specializes in DC Fast Charging, allowing cars to be recharged in 30-45 minutes.
From day one, the team understood the value of the right location, strategically placing charging points that are convenient and safe for EV drivers but also yield high utilisation to support their continued investment in building out the network.
Knowing that location was key, an understanding of the many variables that make a good charging site, and ambitious plans for a rapid rollout, the team at Recharge Monkey knew that their success required moving beyond the traditional site selection process of manual site surveys, spreadsheets and multiple maps.
Evaluating the market, the Recharge Monkey team was impressed by the Dodona eMobility (DeM) platform, specifically the breadth of data that it puts at their fingertips, including the ability to add their own local knowledge and how easy it is for their team to quickly visualise and then plan using this insight. Following a thorough evaluation, the team selected Dodona Analytics to underpin their strategy.
“We are committed to building a network of reliable ‘always on and available’ EV stations that will meet the needs of the poorly served America EV driver” shared Recharge Monkey CEO, Eric Ensor, “and I’m confident that with the insight our team can gain from Dodona data-driven platform, we are off to a flying start”.
“I’m delighted with the opportunity we have to work with Recharge Monkey” stated Chris Chamberlain, co-founder and VP of New Markets at Dodona Analytics “and the trust Eric and his team have put in our platform to help deliver on their exciting plans”.
This announcement is the latest in a series of commercial moves that Dodona Analytics have made in the US in 2024, underlining its investment and commitment to this market.
“I’m excited by this latest US opportunity,” said Dr Sefan Furlan, CEO of Dodona Analytics. “It is a testament to the product’s readiness to support EV entrepreneurs in this new market and how our data-driven approach fuels the adoption of future mobility.”
