When introducing the team behind Dodona Analytics, we chat to our experts about their role at Dodona, their passions, and their career. This month we have Yang Rui, Presales Solutions Consultant, in the interview seat.
Ensuring that our solution answers the Charge Point Planning (CPP) needs of our clients is a priority for the Dodona Analytics team, and something which we strive for on a daily basis.
This month’s Meet the Team interview is with Yang Rui, and an important part of the team which makes this happen. As a Presales Solutions Consultant, Yang Rui tells us about her daily work with clients looking to leverage our platform, as well as her desire to make a meaningful contribution to the transition to clean transportation.
Hi Yang, thanks for your time ! Tell us about your role with Dodona.
I’m a Presales Solutions Consultant. I work closely with our sales team to support Charge Point Operators, utility companies, property management firms, and metering companies, etc. My role involves helping clients leverage our advanced site assessment solutions to identify the most profitable and strategic locations for EV charging infrastructure. By combining data-driven insights with industry expertise, I ensure our clients make informed decisions that maximize ROI and accelerate the transition to sustainable eMobility.
What inspired you to choose this career?
I have always been passionate about the transition from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles, which led me to pursue a degree in Environmental Engineering with a concentration in sustainable energy. After graduation, I gained experience working with Geographic Information Systems, further deepening my understanding of data-driven decision-making for infrastructure planning. When I came across Dodona, it immediately resonated with me—it combines my interests in technology, sustainability, and spatial analysis to support the transition to green energy. The opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful and impactful mission made joining Dodona an easy decision.
What does your department do at Dodona?
At Dodona, the Presales Solutions team is at the forefront of helping clients unlock the full potential of our software. We act as strategic advisors, working closely with sales and directly engaging with the customers. Our role goes beyond just demonstrating the product—we analyze client needs, provide tailored solutions, and ensure they understand how our platform can drive smarter, more profitable EV charging site decisions. We also collaborate with internal teams, offering feedback from the field to continuously refine our solutions. In short, we help bridge the gap between technology and real-world implementation, ensuring our clients get the most value from Dodona’s platform.
What’s the most exciting thing that you are working on right now?
The most exciting thing I’m currently working on are a couple projects in Germany. The German market presents unique opportunities and challenges, making it an exciting space for Dodona’s Charge Point Planning solution. Our product stands out in Germany, and we are eager to help our clients overcome site assessment challenges and optimize their EV charging infrastructure. I’m looking forward to seeing the impact our technology will have in driving smarter, data-driven site selection in Germany.
What inspired you to join the company?
Our CEO played a key role in inspiring me to join Dodona. His vision for leveraging technology to simplify and optimize EV charging site selection resonated with me. Seeing a leader who is deeply committed to innovation and sustainability made me confident that this was a company where I could contribute meaningfully and grow professionally.
What do you like to do outside Dodona?
Outside of Dodona, I enjoy watching films at independent movie theaters. The last film I watched was Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, a beautifully crafted musical. I also dedicate time to learning Japanese, as I find both the language and culture deeply fascinating.
What are you reading, watching or playing that we should try?
Lately, I’ve been reading Blink by Malcolm Gladwell, which is all about how we make split-second decisions without even realizing it. It’s really interesting because it shows how our gut instincts can be surprisingly accurate—but also how they can sometimes lead us astray. The book is full of cool psychological studies and real-world examples that make you think differently about how we process information and make choices. Definitely a thought-provoking read!
Who do you nominate next?
I’d like to nominate Phil, our Head of Delivery. I don’t report to Phil, but I work closely with him, and he’s the one who actually brings our customers’ visions to life. He was the first person to interview me before I joined Dodona, and since then, he’s been both a mentor and my go-to person whenever I have a question. His expertise and dedication make a huge impact, and I think he’d have some great insights to share.
Thank you Yang! It was wonderful to chat with you.
Next month, keep a look out for our interview with our Head of Delivery, Phil Radcliffe!
