There’s nothing like hearing from an experienced Sales professional when it comes to work and career, and this month’s Meet the Team interviewee is no exception. We talk to Alex Moffett, European Sales Manager here at Dodona Analytics.

The eMobility industry is rapidly picking up pace, and our European Sales Manager, Alex Moffet is busy ensuring that businesses operating in the electric vehicle (EV) charging space do not miss out.

As part of our monthly Meet the Team series, Alex tells us his motivations for working within EV infrastructure, his aspirations for our customers and the industry as a whole, as well as his world outside of work.

Hi Alex, Thanks for your time. Tell us about your role here at Dodona.

I am the European Sales Manager at Dodona Analytics, where I focus on expanding our presence in key markets like the UK and Germany. My role involves building meaningful relationships with CPOs, designing tailored proposals that meet their specific needs, and fostering strategic partnerships. By helping clients leverage our predictive analytics platform, I ensure they can optimize their EV infrastructure and scale their operations efficiently. I find it incredibly rewarding to play a part in shaping the future of clean transportation across Europe.

What inspired you to choose this career?

I was drawn to the challenge and opportunity of working in a fast-paced, innovative industry like eMobility. The idea of blending cutting-edge technology with real-world impact - helping companies make data-driven decisions that transform infrastructure - was exciting. Plus, I thrive in roles that require problem-solving and collaboration, and the EV sector combines those elements perfectly  along with having its focus on sustainability.

What is your favorite part of working at Dodona?

What I love most about Dodona is the culture of collaboration and creativity. Every day brings something new, whether it’s brainstorming with the team to tackle a client’s challenge or strategizing for an ambitious expansion plan. Seeing the tangible impact of our solutions - whether that’s helping CPOs scale their networks or improving EV accessibility - is incredibly motivating.

On a personal level, working at Dodona has taught me to embrace agility and innovation in a start-up environment. It’s helped me sharpen my skills in navigating fast-paced challenges, leading cross-functional projects, and building lasting client relationships. These are lessons I’ll carry with me throughout my career.

What general career advice would you give to other professionals like you who are starting out, especially those wanting to work in a start-up?

Be adaptable, curious, and proactive. In a start-up, you’ll wear multiple hats, so having a flexible mindset is essential. Focus on building strong networks and relationships - both with clients and within your team, and don’t shy away from asking questions or seeking mentorship. Remember, every challenge is an opportunity to learn. Finally, keep the bigger picture in mind: know how your role contributes to the mission and stay aligned with the company’s goals.

What do you like to do outside Dodona?

I love spending time on the golf course, working on my game and trying to get my handicap down to scratch. It’s not just about the sport but also the mental focus and relaxation it brings after a busy week. I’m also a massive Liverpool fan and enjoy watching their matches - it’s always an emotional rollercoaster, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Here’s hoping we win it all this year!

What are your reading, watching or playing that we should try?

I’m currently hooked on Squid Games Season 2 - it’s as intense and thought-provoking as the first season. On the lighter side, I read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to my two-year-old son every night. It’s his favourite book, and I must admit, I enjoy it as much as he does - it’s a timeless classic! Outside of that, I’m spending a lot of time playing golf and challenging myself to improve my skills. It’s a great way to recharge and stay focused.

Who do you nominate for our next Meet the Team interview?

Yang Rui - She’s our European Pre Sales Consultant, and an absolute rockstar. I hope her favorite part of working at Dodona is dealing with me on a day-to-day basis - haha!

Thank you Alex, for the insightful and engaging conversation. It was a pleasure chatting with you.
